Prof. Chinua Achebe is dead

Novelist, poet, professor, critic and the author of the most widely read book in African literature (Things Fall Apart) professor Chinua Achebe, has passed on. Professor Achebe died last night March 21 in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He had been ill for a while. He was 82 years old.

The legend has gone home. May his soul rest in peace...Amen.

Baby de la Special Effects! Kim Kardashian Plans Perfect Delivery Of Kanye’s Child

Celebrity mum-to-be, Kim Kardashian really has her poetic bones kicking steady as she makes aesthetically elaborate plans for her first child delivery. The reality TV star is all for the dramatic and seems to have borrowed a stunt out of Jay Z and Beyonce’s book of child-delivery moments, although in fairness to her, she’s thrown in a bit of the special effects and vain originality as the June delivery date pulls close.

According to UK’s celebrity magazine, Daily Star, a source close to the star says ‘Kim is taking the preparations for childbirth very seriously…she wants everything to be perfect and, luckily for her, money is no object.’

‘They (Kim and Kanye) have booked an entire floor at their chosen hospital and her room will be totally sound-proofed before the delivery, she wants all outside influences and noise of traffic muted.’ the insider revealed.

Kim, who obviously wants her child’s entry to the world to be idyllic, ‘plans to reflect the sounds of nature with a trickling water and soothing wind CD. She wants dimmed blue, green and purple lighting as she gives birth,’ the source also added.

Earlier this week rumours broke out that Kim’s boyfriend Kanye West wants to name the child ‘North’, as he’s more disposed to the sound of that to his name.

Hmm..er..Kanye, Let Kim bring up North, we’ll add your West to it, then the world will welcome the baby North-West. Funny, huh?

Jesse Jagz leaves record label Chocolate City, issues public statement

  
The talented rapper released a statement last night saying he has left his record label, Chocolate City. I hear the statement caught everyone at Chocolate City, where his brother M.I is a Vice President, by surprise. Jesse and Chocolate City have been having issues for a while but no one really expected him to make it public. I also hear he left because he wasn't happy about the way they were handling his music career. See his press statement below...

To whom it may concern:

I, Jesse Garba Abaga (also known as "Jesse Jagz") an artist formerly signed to Chocolate City Music label hereby wishes to notify my fans and the general public about my voluntary exit from the label.

After my initial two year contractual agreement with Chocolate City, I do not wish to renew my contract with them and as such have proceeded to continue my music career with my new team at Jesse Jagz Nation. I still maintain a cordial relationship with the management of Chocolate City and my former label mates and I wish them the best in all their future endeavors. House Of Freaks: Charly Boy Hits Us With Reality TV Show

                                                         

When the freaks get real, the weird gets unleashed…

Nigeria is inundated with a storm of Reality TV shows, each one ranging from the interesting, to the ‘okay’, the ‘just-there’ and the ‘mtcchhheeeew’. But none of them really has captured the ‘WOW!’ in us. So in comes Charly Boy, the celebrated musician and perceived freak of the Nigerian entertainment scene bringing us a noveau-tight Reality Show.

He brings to us the regular, although this time, it’s the real regular complete with the mean-looking learned Dad peering out from his glasses, The Honourable Justice Chukwudifu Oputa.

One can never get enough of the weird looking Charly Boy whose sense of appearance has left the flamboyant, leaning more to the ghoulish. So you can expect to see all of that, the sweet but enigmatic wife, Diana, and all the other screen-shy citizens of clan ‘OPUTA’.

Titled ‘In Your Face’, it comes to our faces, hot, fresh and different, so in tune with my gut feeling (which has never failed me), I think we have a winner here.

Marc Anthony has a new muse to inspire his romantic ballads.

The 44-year-old crooner went public with the new – and much younger – woman in his life, Chloe Green, on Tuesday. And where did the new couple make their big debut? Disneyland!

We’re not sure if it’s new love – or the fact that they were at “The Happiest Place on Earth” – but Anthony and 21-year-old Green clearly seemed to be enjoying themselves during the Anaheim, California, outing, which included Anthony’s twins with ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, Max and Emme, who recently celebrated their 5th birthday. The star had his arm around Green, who is the heiress to the Topshop fashion empire, and even gave her a smooch as photographers snapped away.
