Former England skipper, David Beckham is likely to receive Knighthood after been unveiled as one of the potential names on the New Year’s Honours List in England yesterday. The footballer’s likely honour means he will be given the official title Sir, while his fashion designer wife will become ‘Lady Victoria.’

The 38-year-old football ambassador has been named as one of the potential candidates for the Royal accolade, with officials reportedly carrying out standard checks before he is officially confirmed.

 According to The Sun , ‘HM Revenue and Customs look at the higher honours – specifically at the high earners like sports people – to see if there is anything they want to double check. Final approval will be given later this month, with Beckham’s £165 million fortune being one of the factors assessed by officials before he gets the green light.
Should his name appear on the Honours List, the GQ Most Stylish Man of the Year 2013 is likely to be reunited with close friend Prince William when he receives his Knighthood at Buckingham Palace in the New Year.

 According to UK’s DailyMail, the two have forged a close friendship thanks to their various charitable commitments, amongst them WildAid, a campaign to reduce the demand for rhino horns and ivory.

It will also cap a transitional 12-month period for Beckham, who closed the door on his illustrious playing career at the end of last season after winning the French title with Paris Saint Germain.

Reports confirm that Beckham already has an OBE for his services to football, awarded to him in 2003, and the potential knighthood reflects his contribution to football over the last 20-years, as well his various ambassadorial commitments.

Flavour Becomes Lekki Landlord

Sensational Highlife crooner, Flavour, (Chinedu Okoli), has joined the ranks of Nigerian showbiz stars who are now landlords in the highbrow area of Lekki, Lagos State.

The ‘Baby Ukwu’ singer, we gather, has moved into his property in the area to join the likes of Iyanya, Don Jazzy, Dr. Sid, Cossy Orjiakor, Mercy Johnson, Genevieve Nnaji and a host of other stars who own houses in Lekki.

The mansion, we hear, has set the musician back by millions.

The 'Bad Teacher' star posted her first tweet on the micro-blogging site today (11.08.13) and attracted 67,000 followers in just three hours.
Using the Twitter handle @CameronDiaz, the 41-year-old actress poked fun at her late arrival to the social networking site in her first post, writing: "I JUST got a super cool new app called Twitter. Twelloooo!!! (sic)"
The actress' profile includes a brief bio that reads: "Liver and lover of life; professional laugher, eater, make-believer."
She also opted to use a quirky avatar picture, in which she appears wide-eyed and has her mouth open.

The blonde beauty, who is currently filing the new adaptation of 'Annie' in New York City, in which she both sings and dances, is already following 49 people, including her close pals Leonardo DiCaprio, Drew Barrymore, Christina Aguilera, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lake Bell, Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon and Jason Segel.
Cameron, who previously dated Justin Timberlake, isn't expected to reveal too much about her daily life on the micro-blogging site, as she is very aware of what she says about herself in public.

She previously said: "I'm very aware of my words and who I say them to. I'm aware that what I said gets overheard, and people can take it and twist it, and I have no control over that."
