Politics Meets Entertainment: Gov Babatunde Fashola To Revamp Nollywood

                                       Afolayan
Yes you read that title right.
Word on the grapevine is that Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola is about to bring a sweeping change to the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood with a project called ‘Nollywood Upgrade’.
The governor was reportedly in Mumbai recently to do a study on the film industry there and meet with key players who will be involved in the project in addition to looking for future collaborations. Fashola was in India alongside filmmakers Tunde Kelani and Kunle Afolayan as well as Bond Emeruwa and Aimee Corrigan.
The project will feature a three-point agenda which includes training, grant and distribution. Here’s hoping Fashola scores as much success in transforming Nollywood as he did with transforming Lagos.
